Ply wood is considered plywood. It can be made from hard or
soft woods. Plywood is manufactured all over the world. Here in the United
states, I have worked with plywood made in Chile, united states,Canada and
also China to name a few.
Plywood is not considered a hardwood. Only naturally grown
wood qualifies as a 'hardwood' (i.e. Oak, Maple). Plywood is great
however in construction, and is extremely durable. Depending on the
thickness and grade of the plywood, it can be very hard.
It is made in several places in Australia: i.e. Austral Plywoods, Boral
Plywood.
