where to buy wood in the UK
I am an immigrant from the US and back home it is easy and cheap to go to a
DIY store and buy all kinds and quantities of lumber, plywood, pine,
hardwood, etc. Over here, the stores like B&Q and Homebase have
such a limited selection--only softwood and particle board--and the prices
are outlandish. It would be cheaper to go buy used furniture and break it
down than to buythe lumber. So, if you wanna build a bench or a book case, where do you go to buy wood?Specifically, hard wood like oak or birch and plywood. Can you get it at a builder is supply? Are there wholesale outfits just for that?
you need to go to a proper timber store - like Alsford is -
